- Tendonitis of the shoulder
Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon, an extension in the connective tissue of a muscle that inserts into the bone and facilitates joint movement. The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body. For your good performance it depends a lot on the balance of the muscles: sometimes toned, sometimes flexible and relaxed.
- Causes of tendonitis
Presence of calcifications
Stay at the computer;
Work with arms above the plane of the shoulder blades or with arms in suspension;
Inadequate or too intense physical exercise;
Pain in simple movements like picking up an object from the back seat of your car, putting on your seat belt or putting on your jacket. It can get worse and start to appear night pain that prevents sleep or makes it difficult to fall asleep.
Another form of presentation is very intense pain with no apparent cause, which wakes us up at night and does not tolerate any mobilization.
The third form is a combination of the previous two. It covers people who have perfectly tolerable pain in some activities, do not seek treatment and one day have an extremely painful episode.
- How to treat
The treatment involves controlling pain and inflammation, avoiding the cause that triggered the crisis, and essentially recovering the balance between the various muscle groups with the help of massage and other complementary therapies, to prevent the condition from recurring.
Get treatment in time: if you don’t stop, the shoulder will stop you.
